WAVES OF CHANGE: LISTENING TO CHILDREN
Educational Support in Rural Zululand [audio]
There is change afoot in relationships between children and adults in Ingwavuma, a district comprising many villages in the hills demarcating South Africa’s border with Swaziland. Traditionally, children are excluded from decision-making in the family, and kept ignorant of events that will radically alter their everyday lives. The source of this change is both the way AIDS is exerting different kinds of pressures on family life, and the sensitive and creative responses by community projects to these new challenges.
Listen to the audio as Rachel Bray interviews children and adults from he Zisize NGO in Ingwavuma.
