iFund

Great Guides publishes high quality audio recordings, writing and videos that are both entertaining and informative, by some of the leading and most articulate people in a wide variety of interesting fields.

The iFund

• distributes GreatGuides material free through NGOs/ charities and schools
• recruits Great Guides and Members with particular expertise relevant to educators, the disabled and other groups

For many years I recorded books for the blind and I was aware of how much blind and other print handicapped people valued these recordings. Later, my wife, Rachel, and I worked extensively supporting schools in South Africa, and we saw first hand how much the teachers could benefit from quality inspirational resources.

The iFund (Inspiration Fund) has always been central to our vision for GreatGuides. Before the website was launched we began working with Tape Aids for the Blind and the South African Library for the Blind, to make GreatGuides recordings available to their many thousands of members. The Anthropology programme at the University of Cape Town also began using our videos in their teaching.

Your support for the iFund helps us to support our two aims:

1. To network with NGOs, educational and other organisations to find ways to distribute appropriate material (audio/ written/ video) to their members.
2. To actively recruit outstanding professionals with expertise relevant to our target groups and provide them with support and online publishing facilities on GreatGuides.Org.
